Summer is a time for relaxation, but real superheroes can play while learning! I want to share a selection of math platforms for students, parents, and teachers. You all know most of the platforms, but it’s always good to remember and improve your skills!
1. Matific Platform
Matific makes math fun. Students follow their own individual path, complete assigned tasks, and learn through multiplayer classes.
Thousands of math exercises covering the 1st-6th grade curriculum, developed by education experts.
Teachers and parents will have access to powerful tools for control, understanding and necessary mediation.
The teacher can create their own classes and see the progress of each student. During the lessons of knowledge correction, you can create an online game in the Arena, where the whole class joins. For 30 minutes every day, there is an active quest for students.
2. OnlineMSschool platform
The OnlineMSchool resource was created to help schoolchildren and students solve mathematical problems and study mathematics. Here are collected problems, solving which you can improve your mathematical skills. All of them are of different levels of complexity and are created only for independent study. The authors of the project claim that solving problems is the best way to prepare for tests, exams or math tests.
The site also has a large directory with theoretical materials. Some of them are collected in convenient tables and formulas. They can be used when solving problems. There are also several types of built-in calculators with which you can check the correctness of your answers.
3. GeoGebra Platform
GeoGebra is a freely distributed (GPL) dynamic geometric environment that allows you to create “live drawings” for use in geometry, algebra, planimetry, in particular, for constructions using a compass and ruler.
In addition, the program has rich capabilities for working with functions (plotting graphs, calculating roots, extrema, integrals, etc.) using built-in language commands (which, by the way, also allows you to control geometric constructions).
4. Learning.ua Platform
Learning.ua is an educational platform where the learning process takes place according to the children’s scenario. The site offers an interactive online mathematics program for toddlers, preschoolers, and students in grades 1-11 of comprehensive schools with in-depth study. Interactive tasks fully cover the curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, as well as the international educational standards in mathematics Common Core.
The site is unlikely to be suitable for in-depth study of mathematics, but it will definitely come in handy as an auxiliary tool. Interactive mathematical games clearly demonstrate how this science works. The teaching methodology on Learning.ua somewhat deviates from standard educational principles.
5. Mathema Platform
The Mathema online mathematics school was founded in 2020. The school’s YouTube channel has hundreds of free lessons, which are divided into categories according to the age of the students and the subject. For example, “Algebra, Grade 7”.
The site also has a free preparation course for the NMT in mathematics and a NMT math test, which will help you test your knowledge.
6. GIOS Platform
On the GIOS platform, children learn through short interactive videos. On them, the smart Gios, who is the symbol of the site, shows the value of mathematics using real-life examples. After the theory, students immediately consolidate their knowledge with practice. They solve problems developed by teachers.
For completing lessons, children receive “lives” and “points”, for which they buy avatars and compete with each other. The service uses gamification, interactivity, animation, real-life examples and tasks to develop critical thinking. The platform is paid.
Every day is full of something unusual and new, so let’s go forward with our baggage of knowledge in interactive forms!
